Begin Your Journey to Recovery

We know that reaching out for help often comes after months -- sometimes years -- of watching addiction reshape your family. Whether you are the person struggling with substance use or a loved one searching for answers, the admissions process at LMN is designed to feel safe, clear, and unhurried.

When you call (562) 269-3583, you will speak with an admissions specialist who understands that this call may be one of the most difficult you have ever made. They will listen to your story, answer your questions honestly, and walk you through the practical steps -- insurance coverage, program options, travel arrangements, and what to expect during the first 48 hours. If you are a family member calling on behalf of a loved one, our team can help you navigate that conversation, too.

There is no pressure to commit on the first call. We are here whenever your family is ready, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What to Bring

Packing for treatment can feel overwhelming. Here is a straightforward list to help you and your family prepare:

  • Identification: Government-issued photo ID, insurance card, and any relevant medical records or prescription lists
  • Comfortable clothing: 7-10 days of casual, weather-appropriate clothes. Pack layers -- our facility is air-conditioned, and outdoor mindfulness sessions happen rain or shine
  • Toiletries: Basic personal hygiene items (alcohol-free products only). We provide essentials if you forget anything
  • Comfort items: Family photos, a journal, books, or a meaningful personal item that brings you peace
  • Athletic wear: Comfortable clothes and shoes for yoga, pool therapy, and walking our Meditation Labyrinth
  • Medications: All current prescriptions in their original labeled containers -- our medical team will review and manage these during your stay

Please leave behind: Weapons, alcohol, non-prescribed substances, aerosol products, and items containing alcohol (mouthwash, cologne). Electronics are permitted during limited hours per our phone policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does treatment typically last?

Treatment length depends on the individual's needs and clinical assessment. Medical detox generally takes 3-7 days. Residential programs run 30-90 days. Outpatient and IOP programs range from 8-12 weeks. We work with both the patient and their family to determine the right duration, because sustainable recovery requires a timeline that accounts for everyone involved -- not just a standard formula.

Can my family be involved in treatment?

Absolutely -- family involvement is central to everything we do at LMN. We offer weekly family therapy sessions, a dedicated spouse support group, family education workshops, and a Family Week program where loved ones participate in intensive sessions alongside the patient. Our Family Lodge allows out-of-town relatives to stay on campus during key treatment milestones. We believe that when the whole family heals, recovery sticks.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicaid, Medicare, Cigna, Optum, WellCare, and United Healthcare. Our admissions team handles all insurance verification and will explain your coverage in plain language so there are no surprises for you or your family. If your plan is not listed, call us at (562) 269-3583 -- we work hard to find solutions for every family.

Is detox medically supervised?

Yes. Our medical detox program provides 24/7 physician and nursing supervision with medication-assisted treatment when clinically appropriate. We monitor vital signs continuously, adjust medications as needed, and keep your designated family contact informed about your progress throughout the detox phase. Patient safety and comfort are our top priorities.

What happens after residential treatment ends?

Discharge does not mean the end of support -- for the patient or the family. Our clinical team develops a comprehensive aftercare plan that may include step-down to our outpatient or IOP program, ongoing family therapy sessions, alumni group meetings, and connections to local recovery communities throughout Long Beach. We also provide relapse prevention resources for family members so everyone has tools to maintain the progress made during treatment.

Can I visit my loved one during residential treatment?

Yes. Family visitation is scheduled on weekends and at designated times during the week. We also host family picnics on our grounds and offer the Family Lodge for overnight stays during Family Week and other program milestones. We encourage families to stay connected throughout treatment -- it is an essential part of the healing process for everyone.

Do you treat co-occurring mental health conditions?

Yes. Our dual diagnosis program addresses substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions -- such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and bipolar disorder -- simultaneously. We find that treating both conditions together produces better outcomes for the patient and reduces the emotional strain on their family. Our psychiatric team, counselors, and family therapists collaborate on integrated care plans.

What should I tell my children about their parent going to treatment?

This is one of the most common and important questions families bring to us. Our family program director can help you prepare age-appropriate language and guidance before admission. We also offer resources and, in some cases, brief sessions for children to help them understand what treatment means and that their parent is getting help. Honesty, reassurance, and consistency are key -- and our team will walk you through all of it.
